The Classic-i works by absorbing power from the wall socket, a computer, or direct sunlight, and then storing the energy within its internal battery. Once the charger's battery is full, you can use it to power your cell phone, smart phone, iPod, MP3 player, PDA, Bluetooth headset, game player, GPS, fish finder, or digital camera--more than 3,200-plus devices in all. This versatility helps the Classic-i excel as a travel companion, a primary power source for remote locations, or an emergency backup power supply.

The universal charger conserves energy and is cost-effective as sun-based energy is completely free and requires no batteries or other fuel-based energy. The solar design couldn't be simpler, with a fan-blade outlay that achieves maximum solar area when in use. Just spread out the blades, expose them to direct sunlight either outdoors or affixed to a window, and get ready to take your power on the road. You can use the sun to fully charge the Classic-i's battery for later use, or you can charge your device directly through the Classic-i. One hour of sunshine provides roughly 20-plus minutes of talk time or 50-plus minutes of MP3 music (depending on the device).

To charge the Classic-i's battery without using the sun, simply connect the charger to your computer using the included USB charge-in cable. Plus, the energy in the charger's 1,650 mAh lithium-ion battery doesn't need to be redeemed immediately, as it stores the juice for more than a year. The Classic-i does not come with a preselected variety of adapter tips, but is instead compatible with all i-Go power tips (sold separately), including i-Go mini USB, i-Go micro USB, i-Go iPhone/iPod, i-Go Samsung, and i-Go Blackberry versions.
