The Merlin 8x32 binocular includes a neck strap, a rain guard, objective caps, and a carrying case. The Merlin's optics are made with premium optical glass coated with Steiner's natural color transmission multi-coating, which boosts light transmission much higher than similar binoculars in the same class. This yields extraordinary clarity, resolution, and color fidelity, so you can make out minute details from long distances. The binocular also includes a unique fast-focus system, which turns from close focus to infinite distance in two full turns of the focus wheel. This razor-sharp fine-tuning is smooth and precise.
Knowing that some birds are skittish in the presence of bright or light colors, Steiner took the opposite approach with the Merlin. The binocular's near-transparent neutral color is a unique earth tone brown, chosen by Steiner's development staff and birders as the color least noticeable to birds. Finally, the Merlin's lightweight, compact body makes the binocular ideally suited for longer walks or hikes.
All Merlin binoculars come with a super-comfortable neoprene neck strap, a rain guard, objective caps, and a carrying case. The cushioned neck strap, which includes a quick-release buckle system, can be removed instantly for cleaning or replacement. The rain guard, meanwhile, keeps rain, moisture, and dust off the eyepiece, so you enjoy clear views every time. The binocular's objective caps grip the lenses securely for protection. And the case is made of thermo-formed PVC, which basically adds another cushioning layer to the outside of the binocular. Waterproof, shockproof, and tripod-mountable, the Merlin 8x32 binocular is suitable for years of outdoor use.
